Glow Media is searching for Interns with Glowing Futures!

We look for students who are passionate, dedicated, energetic, resourceful and creative Glow Getters!!!  We seek students who possess fundamental skills and the desire to launch their career into the future.  In this internship you’ll get hands-on experience, gain knowledge of the industry and develop a network for your professional career.

Company Information: From concept to clean up, Glow Media considers all possibilities with a strategic plan in mind and cultivates the best strategy with professionalism and charm! This applies to all of our services; Event Management, Event PR and Fashion Show Production. We work closely with our clients to portray and communicate each company’s image in order to bring brands and personalities to life in an effective way. Glow Media brings an enormous amount of creativity and enthusiasm to each project.  It is this combination that gives our campaigns a special and unique feel from other agencies. In addition, we identify their target consumer audience, and plan accordingly.

Seasonal Internships

The Seasonal Internship Program provides undergraduate, graduate students and beginning professionals with practical experience in Event Planning Services. While college credit is not required, if necessary, Glow Media will provide your school with proper documentation to obtain school credit. These are unpaid internships that come with a transportation stipend. Each intern must be available a minimum of 10 hours per week. Please note that schedules are prepared around the intern’s academic schedule. We offer internships for the fall, spring and summer semesters.

Full Time Internships

Full-time internships are offered to national and international students. These 12-Month internships provide training in event planning and multiple event management and include a monthly stipend.  Interns get access to professional staff members, clients and vendors. 12-Month interns will also be given the opportunity to develop a firm understanding of the event industry as a whole. They also have creative input and the ability to manage minor events.

Job Title:                      Event Planning Intern

Job Description:          Event Planning Intern will work closely with all executive staff, and will report to the Event Manager.  They will assist on working various special projects and events on an as-needed basis.  They will have input in creative development, coordination and execution of events. Create reports and recaps for scheduled events. Maintain archival system.

Perform daily office administrative duties as needed.

The following are the learning objectives:

– Learn how to plan, manage and produce various types of events, including pre and post event activities (events may vary per schedule)

– Gain exposure to event preparation and aspects of “white glove service”
– Learn how to create production notes and conduct planning meetings
– Develop relationships with internal and external persons that foster the event services industry.

– Exposure to the budgeting and financial analysis

– Build client relations

– Research venues and schedule site-visits in New York and around the world

– Generate reports and library of documents.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational and data entry skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail
  • Independent worker and team player
  • Able to successfully use time management and handle multiple priorities
  • Literate of computer programs Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Creative and good problem solving skills

Job Title:                      Social Media Intern

Job Description:          The Social Media Intern will work closely with the Assistant Event Planner, and will report to the Event Manager. They handle all aspects of social media, ie facebook, twitter, instagram, pinterest and blogging site. Their duty is represent the brand of Glow Media in the best way possible.  They will offer new ideas to marketing campaigns. The purpose is to attract clientele and engage viewers through social outlets. The intern will also have the opportunity to come to events and post live.

The following are the learning objectives:

–          Learn to develop content and express it via the internet

–          Develop creative marketing strategies

–          Learn to maintain a brand and witness the effects of social outreach

–          Develop monthly viewing reports

–          Learn Web development and maintenance

Requirements:

  • Social media savvy, with knowledge of trends
  • Knowledge of Word processor, twitter, facebook and pinterest interface
  • Literate of computer programs Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail

  • Strong organizational skills

Job Title:                      Onsite Event Intern

Job Description:          The Onsite Event Intern has the opportunity to accompany the Glow Media team on and assist with scheduled events. This is a position on an as-need basis. We always have events and always need help on the big day. The Event Assistant will be required to attend a debrief meeting a week prior to the event at the office. On the day of the event the intern is expected to work the full event, from setup to strike, unless otherwise discussed. Assistant will only need to be present at the events he/she is committed. This is a voluntary position.

The following are the learning objectives:

–          Learn all aspects of event production

–          Develop relationships with vendors and on-site staff
